Dwayne Johnson Spills The Beans On His Beef With Vin Diesel

Dwayne Johnson has revealed the differences that led to his feud with fellow actor Vin Diesel.

The pair, who have appeared together in Fast Five, Fast& Furious 6, Fast 7, and The Fate of the Furious, clashed during the filming of the latter during 2016 and have presumably refused to be filmed in scenes at the same time, with Johnson confirming that they weren't in any together in the last movie.

The beef between the actors was laid bare in 2016 after Johnson, who plays the character of Luke Hobbs in the movies, appeared to lash out at other members of the male cast, which of course included Diesel.

"Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't," he wrote in an Instagram post. "The ones that don't are too chicken s--t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses."

It was later understood that the Triple X star was the main subject of Johnson's rant.

Speaking in a lengthy interview with Rolling Stone, the wrestler-turned-actor finally addressed the bad blood between himself and Diesel.

"That is correct, we were not in any scenes together," he said.

"Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating.

"It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not."

Johnson has indeed been a busy man. He stars in the upcoming Rampage movie, set for release on April 13, 2018, he played a leading role in Jumanji last year as well. He also plays the role of Spencer Strassmore in HBO comedy Ballers, which will drop its fourth season this year.

The 45-year-old is currently working on Hobbs and Shaw, a spinoff from the Fast series co-starring Jason Statham, but isn't sure he'll be involved in the next installment, Fast 9.

"I'm not quite sure," he admitted. "Right now I'm concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be.

"But I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have."

Laughing, he backtracked: "Actually, you can erase that last part about 'no ill will.' We'll just keep it with the clarity."

It's actually quite sad that these two talented actors do not exactly see eye to eye, especially in the wake of Paul Walker's death. But at least the beef is settled for now; and who knows? They could settle the differences completely in future.

For now, though, we'll have to make do with the notion of no Hobbs in Fast 9 or just more separate scenes.
